Card Offloader

Privacy

Card Offloader collects nothing. Your footage, your file names, your drive names and your reports never leave your Mac.

That is the whole policy. The rest of this page explains precisely what it means, what the website records, and how to check that we are telling the truth — because on this site we would rather be verified than believed.

The app

Card Offloader is a sandboxed macOS application. It reads the cards and folders you explicitly give it access to, writes to the destinations you choose, and writes its reports next to your files. It does not:

Do not take our word for it

Run Card Offloader behind an outbound firewall such as Little Snitch or LuLu and offload a card. Apart from the traffic macOS itself makes to Apple for App Store and StoreKit purposes, you should see nothing leave your Mac. If you do see something, that is a bug and we want to hear about it: tell us.

Purchases

Card Offloader is sold through the Mac App Store. Subscriptions, trials, receipts and refunds are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your address, your payment details or your Apple Account. What we receive from Apple are aggregated sales figures that cannot be traced back to an individual.

Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one.

Crash reports

If you have turned on Share with App Developers in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, macOS may send Apple a crash report that Apple then makes available to us through App Store Connect. Those reports contain technical information about the crash, not your files. That setting is yours, it is off unless you turned it on, and you can turn it off at any time.

This website

The website has no cookies, no analytics service, no tracking pixels, no embedded fonts and no third-party scripts. Nothing on these pages loads anything from another company's server.

The web server does keep an ordinary access log, as web servers do. Each request records your IP address, the page requested, the time, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. We use it for one purpose: to see that the site works, to find broken links, and to know whether search engines can read the pages.

We do not build profiles, we do not combine the log with anything else, and we do not sell or share it.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom, or your national authority in the EU. In practice there is very little of yours to act on: the only personal datum we hold is an IP address in a log that deletes itself after fourteen days. Write to us and we will do what the law requires.

Children

Card Offloader is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it, and the previous wording is not quietly replaced without saying so. This page will always describe what the current version of the app actually does.

These terms sit alongside our Terms of Use.
